Smile 3-Wks Til My 3-Week Vacation to Aruba!

This will be my fifth consecutive multiple week trip to Aruba and I am as excited now as I was on my first trip! December 28th to January 18th I have not been on these boards for a long time. I am Glenn from Maryland. Hope some of you are going the same time I am. Just thought I would share my excitement with you all. Cheers!

Thank you Andrea. I only usually only take one vacation a year, so I usually just take it all at once. And I choose winter so I can escape the Cold Weather.

Hi Glenn....

Where do you stay ? How to you like to fill up those long, hot Aruba days ? My husband and I will be there for the 4th to the 18th. He is a windsurfer and I like to read at the pool and gamble a bit in the casino. I am about to check our passports, as this could very well be year 10 for us. (Probably not though, as passports are only good for 9 years, no?) We have a timeshare unit at the Marriott Ocean Club. We have never attended a BB party but plan to fit one in on this trip.....maybe we will see you there....

I stay at the Divi Mega All Inclusive Resort. I like the quiet low key low rise district the best during the day. I am usually found with a drink in hand at one of the bars or near the beach. I use a power wheelchair and going on the beach is not possible for me. I get close though and I enjoy catching lots of the Aruba sun. I go to town some days during the day to shop and explore. I enjoy the Casinos at night and also the Night Life (Carlos N' Charlies mostly). Even though I stay at an all inclusive I eat dinner at various other places during my stay. In 3 weeks I manage to do lots of things and I like to keep it all spontaneous. All I know is in 3 weeks I will get plenty of well needed R&R. I will hate leaving as always too. lol I have never been to a BB party either, but maybe I will check it out one of the weeks I am there. What day will the party be when you two are there?

the amsterdam manor bb happy hour
"every monday"
5pm
Eagle Beach
Amsterdam Manor Beach Bar

i do not think that the beach bar at amsterdam manor is wheelchair accessible (i may be wrong)
but i do think that the sand is a huge issue.

i do not think there is a solid walkway from the sidewalk across the sand to the beach bar.

Thanks for the info Andrea. I guess this means no BB party for me. No worries though cause who knows who I will run into during my stay. Not literally unless there is alcohol to blame haha I am a responsible drunk driver in my wheelchair. Woohoo 17 days before I leave for Aruba!

just an idea

Just an idea, but why not move the BB Happy Hour to another location that IS wheel chair accessible...for the time that Glenn's there! If it's posted well enough on here then everyone will have adequate notice since his trip is 3 weeks away. And you could let the current location know where you're moving to.
