AA flight price decreased

I was on AA.com today looking at the cost of the flight I booked a few months ago and noticed it had gone down nearly $200 for the pair of tickets, I called AA customer service and they gladly credited me back the difference.

I was not aware that airlines did such things, just wanted to let everyone know incase they are in the same situation - its worth a try!

Re: AA flight price decreased

We did this last year and was credited $285 per ticket. However, AA charged us $100 per ticket for the change. I tried to dispute it but they insisted this constituted a ticket change and the charge was valid. They send us "vouchers" rather than refunding our credit card.

Re: AA flight price decreased

This is nothing new - we have had flights where the prices go up and we say thank goodness we bought already and times when the fares go down and we call AA and get either a refund or credit for the difference. always feels good to get money refunded.

Re: AA flight price decreased

You should have called back and gotten a different rep, just read on another bb some folks had a price drop and had the difference credited back to their credit card, no fee, that's baloney about it being a ticket change.

Re: AA flight price decreased

Here is the deal with AA. If it is a NON-STOP
flight From USA to Aruba they will credit
you back the difference in the original form of payment. BUT... If your flight stops ANYWHERE in the USA then to Aruba you will get a voucher and will have to pay $100 re-booking fee.It must be a non-stop international flight

Linda! Not true about ticket change being Baloney! You have to read the fine print when you make advanced reservations!

Re: AA flight price decreased

Last year we booked with USAIR- kept watching off and on for price changes..when I saw one I called and all 8 of us got "Vouchers for $275.00 each)..they do not credit you at USAIR...so now we are using our Vouchers to go to Mexico for Christmas..BUT you have to be the one to keep checking the prices...they will Not call and tell you....also- when you want to use your "Vouchers" you call the airport make the reservation and ask for a "Courtesy Hold"- then you must go in person to the airportwithin 24 hrs - pay and pick up your tickets..alot of people do not realize this...it was news to us also....We are going from Bostont o Aruba 5/4 t0 5/22 and paid $350.00 per person rd. trip (one stop) cheapest price we've paid in over 20 yrs.
