ACCESS TO CARIBBEAN ART

If there are any art lovers out there (sure there are a few) then it might be interesting for you to take a look at ACCESS art down town on the main street next to the HUGO BOSS store.

They started out rather humbly about two years ago and now have upstairs and downstairs galaries with the upstairs one having a special coffee shop and outside veranda café. Fabulous art and good coffee while watching the foot traffic below.

The art covered all spectrums such as carving, pottery, canvas and other mediums,
There is some really great stuff there that has obvious African influences and some out-of-this-world modern pieces. There were loose canvases that would be easy to roll and take back with you.

Prices were reasonable and they had plenty of attendants there to show and explain.

Go enjoy.

Re: ACCESS TO CARIBBEAN ART

Thanks Charles - I appreciate your info. A few years ago, there was a great little art shop in the mall near the cruise ship gate but it disappeared and I haven't found anything like it since. I will check out this place. I am especially interested in local Aruba art - pictures of the countryside and old cunucu houses, etc. I'm a bit of an artist myself so love to look at and buy work of others....Thanks....Cheryl

Re: ACCESS TO CARIBBEAN ART

If you want to see art that the aruban peple do themselves, go to gasperitos for dinner. All their paintings and art work are from Aruban people who are trying to make some extra money. The resturant's food is GREAT too.
