my best guesstimate about $200 per day will be more than plenty.

your children are not old enough to run up a huge bar bill (even soft drinks and virgin frozen drinks can cost lots)

if you eat out every "other" night, dinner for the 2 adults will run probably less than $100.
the 4 yr old and 18 mo won't eat much and will be able to eat small kid sized portions and kid priced.
the activities that your family of 4 will do will NOT be high priced SCUBA or sailing adventures.....more like butterfly farm visit, donkey sanctuary visit.
maybe a babysitter will cost more than you want to spend, but could be money very well spent.

so, IMO $200 a day is more than enough!

Hello - Almost to paradise...

I'd like to get some tips, seems like I can just use US dollars there? - would say Cash/CC is better?
Palm Beach area- any suggestions on good eats, nice casual, and tropical

Thank you!

We use Travelers checks and credit cards..( check your card b4 for the service charges are high). Cash is still always good >)

Palm beach eats: Moby Dicks, Sunset Grille, Casa Tua, Hyatt brunch, Madame Jeannettes...

click this link for some restaurant suggestions
Restaurant Help

also too go to the culinary culture section on the forum

US $$$ are widely accepted
no need to exchange US dollars for Aruban florins

check with your credit card company to see if there is a foreign transaction fee.
master card and visa very widely accepted
discover and amex widely accepted, but not as much as the other 2

We bring enough cash only for tips and any excursion which does not take credit card and pay everything else with credit card. If you use credit cards, check with your issuer to find out if there are any international fees. http://www.aruba.com/forum/tags/credit%20card%20fees.html

We mostly use cash and bring a credit card. Moomba's by Holiday Inn great for lunch, Pelican Pier a little further down great for lunch or dinner, Madam Jeanettes excellant dinner

Don't you end up losing money with the exchange rate?

No, the Aruban Florin is pegged to the US Dollar.
