AirExel out of Business?

Does anyone know if this airline went out of business? We wanted to go to Curacao from Aruba for a few days but their website (flyexel.an) no longer works and saw an article that it closed in May of 2005.

Can anyone confirm? How can we get to Curacao from Aruba now?

Thanks

Re: AirExel out of Business?

Air excell is still in business. I flew from Bonaire , had a lay over in Curacao (15 minutes)then departed for Aruba. *there are only 2-3 flights per day I think.
it is expensive. a r/t ticket from Aruba to BOnaire and Back cost US $189....
i am sure once in Aruba, there are flights departing to Curacao. (15 min flight).
recheck all web sites,
i had to purcase ticket once i was there. and was put on standby.
Good luck.!

Re: AirExel out of Business?

We went to Curacao from Aruba in March. We spent two days there. We had stopped there on a cruise twice and thought it would be nice to spend a few days there. Well, it was nice but Aruba is much better. We did fly exel but it was "interesting". No one in the office in Curacao but someone is the office in Aruba. We actually called the Aruba office directly to get information. We booked our tickets with them but did not pay for them. We picked them up just before departure at the airport but had to pay for them CASH nothing else would be accepted. It was around $130is US PP (can't remember the exact amount). There was no other way to get to the island.
The island is having some financial difficulties and not as nice as Aruba. We ate at two nice restaurants and stayed at two different hotels that were completely different from one another. TAxi's are more expensive there too. Beaches not as nice as they are all public and not allowed to do what the Aruba hotels have done. In addition, they lost a lot of their beach to the hurricane last year.

AirExcel is out of business. Try BonaireExpress. They have several flights per day, but they aren't cheap.

Re: AirExel out of Business?

Ok, Yes it was Bonaire Express and I called from Canada to the Aruba office directly. Booked a ticket to hold the space and then just before leaving we picked up the ticket. The flight is 30 minutes. We decided to leave early from Curacoa and went to the airport early in hopes of getting on the flight. No one answers the phone in Curacoa office so we went down to the airport in hopes of getting on the flight. We called many times during the day and were finally told by our hotel that no one works in their cuaracoa office,
