Re: airfare

Mike,
you might try flying into Miami first then catching a flight to Aruba??
When I was there I saw American Airlines advetised heavily.
If you get done there you must try El Gaucho to eat and Cosme Alberts taxi service #58!! What a great time!
Good luck!

Re: airfare

It sounds like you live in the Midwest. We also had difficulty finding a decent airfare to Aruba for this May. It is suppose to be off season so you would think the prices would be lower. We did not find that to be true. Chicago has a direct flight but for us to connect on this flight we would have to fly into Chicago a day early and spend the night. We did not want to be in travel mode for over 24 hours. We found a flight on Continental that flys direct from Houston. We are able to fly to Houston from our hometown and than on to Aruba. The prices to get to ARuba from the Midwest are very expensive. We ended up paying $682 which is the cheapest I found for the dates we are flying. (saturday to Saturday) I found this fare on FlyCheapAbroad.com. We are staying at the Marriott Surf Club with Marriott points so was not interested in a package. However if you need hotel a package might be the way to go. Hope this helps!

Re: airfare

Mike,
I'm dealing with the same issue. I'm looking to fly in early August. So far I have found that United flies non-stop from O'Hare to Aruba on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The summer airfares are still pretty steep at $600. Also, I have been told that funjet.com is running great deals on non-stop flights from Midway and O'Hare on Saturdays for about $480. Good luck and wish me the same.

Re: airfare

Mike wait till about 90 days before then book the airlines are at their lowest then I booked United from Detroit to Aruba at $506 p/p not too bad 30 days later it was up to $800 and yes flying to Miami is also a very good way to go also, It's about $400 p/p a short flight, about 2 hours and its very cheap to get to Florida from the midwest then just spend the night and your off the next day. Word of warning if you go that way do'nt stay at the Miama airport Hilton it's a dump

Re: airfare

After doing some research and talking to my uncle that flies thousands of miles weakly, I found that cheapflights.com and some pretty incredible specials, for the reamainder of march and through april. From st. louis(Lambart) it was $380 plus taxes and $329 from chicago(O'Hare) plus taxes and they are nonstop. Im just hoping that they come up with the same special for the month of may when the time comes.

Re: airfare

Hi,
I am trying to fly from chicago too in late
May or June to Aruba and I cannot find cheap
airfare either. The best so far is with
Ata at $672. We have Marriott points and
were planning on staying at the Marriott
Stellaris? or maybe their condos. Anyone
ever stay here. Is the food expensive in
Aruba?
