JET BLUE and American Airlines offer direct to Aruba from New York.
The airport in Aruba has come along way since my first visit in '96'. Back then, you exited the plane onto the tarmac. They have terminals now. I do find that when leaving Aruba on a weekend, the lines are pretty lengthy; however this is probably the case at most airports. We decided next year to go Thursday-Thursday to see if the airport lines are a little better.

http://www.airportaruba.com/ Aeropuerto Internacional Reina Beatrix, Aruba International Airport. Pretty nice airport. You will go through US Customs and Immigration in Aruba prior to returning to the US. Avoids one less hassle. YES, as Divi chic, AVOID flying on the weekend, ESPECIALLY departing. The lines...

There are no non-stop flights from BDL.

Here is what I know...which is probably not much these days

The airlines which fly daily NON-STOP from NYC area are :
JetBlue Airways New York
Continental Airlines Newark
American Airlines New York
Delta (Saturday only I believe JFK)

If you can fly from Boston:
Saturday to Saturday, US Air and American have non-stops

Thanks guys... I have to fly on American because of my flyer's miles ( two free tickets) another question we are going to stay, and book soon at the tamaijin. Can we book during the week or just on weekends for our stay.

Arrow Non-stops to Aruba

If you can get a direct, non-stop out of NY, go for it. If you check out the link below on another thread, you can read about the problems I am having with the flight we booked on AA out of BDL. BDL has no direct flights, and AA's connections through both MIA and SJU now have LONG layovers. If you can avoid BDL, you are better off.

As other posters indicate, Boston also offers non-stops, but I get the impression you are between BDL and NYC. Choose NYC so you can avoid the headaches I'm currently dealing with. Good luck!

As far as the airport goes, I agree it's pretty nice. We try to avoid traveling on the weekend because of the lines. Generally if we can, we fly mid-week -- and the airfares are cheaper, too.

Wow so sorry that is happening to you. I live in Ct. BDL is closer to me, but with all your headaches I think I will drive the 1 1/2 hours to JFK or LGA. Thank you for the heads up...
