Airport Arrival Situation
If you'r booked
If you're packed If you're coming to Aruba in the next week(s) Try to prepare yourself for the following: The airport has been packed and there have been some minor delays such as being in a holding pattern for a few extra minutes, not debarking immediately and the the luggage seems to have become cerebral and has been playing hide and seek (only to loose the game). There are plenty of taxi's and .... if you know someone going to the same resort as you (such as - the folks you never knew before but promised to get together with while on the way down here) ... well then share a taxi because the charge is for the ride and not per person. Because of timing on how the planes are landing - the resort lobby's are packed with "check-ins". Here you have two options. #1) get really upset and P.O.'d that you are not being immediately attended to or #2) Sit in a comfy overstuffed lobby chair and get either two or three of whatever pink drink they are offering you for free. Watch the people and know that you are where you wanted to be. ABOUT THE OTHER STUFF: When in a holding pattern, look down and smile at what awaits you. You're to tired to go rock and rolling anyway. Not debarking immediately - The options are to sit in the semi-comfortable seat in the plane or stand in line at customs while dragging whatever it is you dragged on board with you. Luggage?? - Nowadays with all the "Bar-codes" and other tracking systems, luggage has a way of not wanting to get lost - in any event, I have travelled many years and to many destinations and lost my share of luggage. As important as it seemed to me then, it has never been life altering, take comfort in that. But most importantly, know this - in our own individual ways and for our own individual reasons, we as people welcome you back home. What took you so long? .. and .. Please do not shut the door behind you. be well charles |

 our air tran flight sat on the taxiway on saturday the 11th waiting for gate space. (we arrived a bit early) my analogy it was like being tempted with a hot fudge sundae being held an arms length away and being told.........not yet, not yet, not yet.
