Airport News

In the Bon Dia newspaper today, there was an article about the workers at the airport. I posted a photo of the page on my blog. It is under PAGES, then called ARUBA NEWS DIRECT.

Those with papiamento skills will be able to read the entire article. The gist is that the workers want their "right pay" or they will take action. What action is not clear. There is a meeting scheduled between the airport operator, AAA, and the union representing the workers.

This is all I have at the present time, which is direct from BON DIA and not from any other source. Perhaps those of you with contacts on the inside can augment the information presented.

Bon dia from Aruba.

well if their pay was low to begin with, then 25% may be warranted. there's instances in the states where unions were able to extract such sizable sums from the employers due to extended periods of stagnant pay raises.

Thanks "44".

With KLM leaving....not exactly a good time for them to alienate other airlines..

With tourism down....not exactly a good time to alienate customers...
