Any chance there's anyone in Aruba right now that can give us an update on the activity at the Alhambra?
What's up? What's open?
Just trying to figure out some evening activities while in paradise.
Yeah, shopping can be and often is an option.
IF at all possible, images would be nice.... hint hint.
Just got home Sunday. The casino is open. Subway is open. You can gamble and eat.
Hmmm. No shopping as such yet then.
Perhaps by April things might move along a bit.
Though somehow, I think this journey to paradise may be a bit different.
We may not need to concern ourselves with evening activities.
We shall see.
And thanks for the update AndyM...
I was hoping the same thing. We go April 26th for 10 days. The Dunkin that was there was always a plus.
This is, after all, Aruba we're talking about. Perhaps things will be different in April.
I just returned from Aruba a few days ago and the shops aren't even close to being open!!! I would say it will take some time yet. I also read that they are going to be putting a street car in and will start laying tracks soon. They hope it will be finished by the end of the year.......but I wouldn't count on it!!
We are here now and just walked around Alhambra. The door to Dunkin Donuts was open so we stuck our heads in to get a look. The donut counters are in and there are wires hanging all over the ceiling. I asked my husband (a builder) how long it would take to finish. He said in the US about two weeks, but here in Aruba, who knows? There's not that much left to do, just a matter of getting it done. There was a man there working on it when we were there. The shops in the back look like they could take many, many months to finish.
Could anyone give me the word on the renovations at the Alhambra? We will be there in June and just wondering if things will be all spruced up for us!!
I was at the Alhambra this morning with Mrs. 44. Subway and Dunkin' are open, and it looks like a restaurant called Ginger is also open. Still working going on, but the area has been tiled with people passing through.
More to come.
