ALL ABOUT THE WEATHER

Lot's of BB concern about next weeks weather and been gettng tons of private mail on this as well. Here is my take on it.

If we, on Aruba could get just $1,000 for everytime the weatherman predicts rain and it does not even drizzle, we would be an island of millionairs. It happens all the time and it is probably the reason we do not look at weather reports.

Fact is that when it says it is going to rain here, it normally pours in Venezuela. Some time back rains were predicted for the entire area and the unfortunates in Venezuela suffered massive mud-slides while we basked in the sun. I would guess it is human or perhaps just kindness and concern that motivates the Aruban populace to always jump in and send Food, clothing and medical aid to the Venezuelan relief organizations when this happens.

Could it rain? Sure it could, but I for one would not plan on it. To do that would be like planning for ant prior to going on a picnic. The little critters could be there, but then they probably woun't be. It is just that we look forward to those special Sunday picnics and in defense of the dream with the family, think of all the horrors that could ruin it. Would rain ruin your vacation? It would dampen it but ruin is a big term and one that is not likely to happen.

Plan your vacaton in relative the comfort that Aruba is an arid island. It was once termed "Isla Inutil" "useles island" by the Spanish. Wnat to know why? - Lack of rain and scorching arid temperatures. This - of course was during the days of Sailing vessels. Today, we have Jets, Suntan lotions and Sun-block. Use all three and .....

Come to Arubaaaaaah

Re: ALL ABOUT THE WEATHER

hi charles,
We have been coming down to aruba for 20 years and only hit rain once, in November. I just looked at the forecast and they see a lot of rain for next week. We are arriving on Friday. Tell me how accurate these reports are and has it been rainy lately.
Thanks
Olga

Re: ALL ABOUT THE WEATHER

Olga,
Last week we had some very early (still dark outside) sprinkles. The kind that leave pock marks on a dusty car, as ours always is. That is it.

Talked to the weather station about noon yesterday and they are saying tht it will probably rain during the morings.
Aside from that, what can I say?

Re: ALL ABOUT THE WEATHER

Olga - every time I read that you all have gotten a rainy forecast for next week, I just laugh. Where do you guys get this information? Charles - aside from the three early morning drizzles, have you seen any rain in the last three months? NO. Guys, it's safe, please come on down. We did have a VERY rainy November and even December, but we are back to normal. Come and enjoy. Toni

Toni,
You are on target. Aside from the early morning showers I have been mentioning (light ones at that) there has been ZILCH
