Somebody was telling me that had been to Aruba that all Aruba people have to work. Is this true? Like mandatory by the government?

No, it's not mandatory!
But life on Aruba is VERY expensive. Aruba has one of the highest levels of women in the workforce and many people work two jobs.
The government provides social benefits to those that are unemployed, but the monthly payments are very low.

Only if need money, but if you are fine without them--enjoy your life on the beach,and ofcause-in the casinos.

Standar of living on Aruba is very high in comparison to the rest of the Caribbean and that takes cash. Unless you are retired or have a bunch of discretionary cash, work is a good option to consider.
