I've seen the question asked a lot on this board on why would anyone want to go all inclusive. For us it's because when your at the beach or pool and it's 88 degrees I don't feel like paying $15.00 everytime my wife and I want a cocktail. You don't have to make reservations at the resturaunts, you can eat at your convenience. I think there is however a big difference between all inclusive at the high rises vs. the low rise section. The low rises are so much more laid back and friendly. Now don't bite my head off, these are just one persons opinions. P.S. We go all inclusive but every year we go out and try a different resturaunt on the island.
We picked the Divi all inclusive because we are on a budget and this was easiest for us. I didn't want to have to spend money for every drink or snack. I like the idea of unlimited drinks and food that this resort has to offer. I hope to be able to go and try another restaurant also but dining out is not a high priority.
I can't wait to enjoy our vacation...16 days more!!
I do the all inclusive at the high rise. I agree I am at the beach and pool and don't want to worry about anything. It is nice to know everything is paid for. We too pick someplace to eat other than the hotel for 1 meal. Wouldn't go anyother way.. I am on the fence about doing a low rise...I like the idea of the casino etc at night. Would like feedback on the two
I am a high rise person but if I were to go AI I would only do it at the Divi.
When I think of an AI resort I think of Beaches, Clud Med, Sandals etc. Aruba has no such resort. The Divi is your best bet.
Divi is the best! We didn't want to carry money around in case we wanted a drink or something to eat. Plus, the money that we saved on not getting a taxi or bus and reservations eating out, we were able to go on more excursions. To us, that was better than eating out all the time. The next time we go, I would stay at the Divi again and eat out at El Gouchos and Flying Fishbones.
In my opinion the Divi gave you the true Arubian feel of the island.
I love the AI packages. Worth it for the drinks and breakfgasts alone. We have some of the best restaurants on the East Coast in my city, and if I want to spend $30-$50 a head for dinner 5 nights a week I can do it here.
We always leave the Divi one night and eat in town. It's good for getting out and doing something different. But honestly, there aren't THAT many dinners at Aruban restaurants that we all can't find back in our hometowns - and for less money. I always enjoy grabbing lunch in town also some day.
Vacation to me is getting away from formal meals. It's relaxing, sipping endless drinks, swimming and sunning and not be rushed or pushed into any formal eating arrangements.
Donna: I'm heading to the Divi myself in September for the same reasons. Hope you have a great trip, I'll be waiting to hear all about it. It's my time in Aruba so I'm pretty interested in what everyone has to say! Can't wait...53 days and counting.
