allegro renovation

I haven't checked the board lately (working hard to pay for my next vacation). Can someone tell me how the renovations are coming along at the Allegro. I was told it would be closed from April until late this year so we booked our 1 week stay for this year for 2 weeks next year. It's a long way off and I'm just curious. Thanks for your help.

Re: allegro renovation

big tom,
nice to hear of another lover of the allegro. it is my favorite and nothing can beat it. just was at the wyndham (due to allegro renovations) and it can't even compare. the allegro is planning on adding 2 restaurants......mexican and chinese. i can't imagine that resort getting any better than it already was. i have plans to revisit in april, 2006. be aware, the name is going to change, so be on the look out.
i'm so siked to return there. it is the BEST!!!!!

Re: allegro renovation

We were at the Allegro casino in April -- hotel was closing first of May, but the casino is staying open during the renovations, according the the pit boss I was talking to.

Re: allegro renovation

I was there just a few days before they closed down.
THe hotel will have 7 restaurants in total, a new sports bar/disco. It is supposed to be wonderful. The casino is staying open during the renovations, they are adding a door that will allow people to enter right off the front of the hotel without having to come inside.

Re: allegro renovation

big tom,
i had to write you since you are in total agreement with me on the allegro. i recently stayed at the wyndham (due to allegro renovations) and didn't like it at all. couldn't compare to the allegro. i tried to explain to people on the posting site about the buffet at the allegro. i found it unbelievable what a breakfast and lunch they served. so many different things to choose from. the wyndham had the usual bacon, eggs, toast, pancakes, etc. the boring stuff. can you come to my aid and tell them how the buffet at the allegro is ?
