Amer. Airlines ALERT !

Everyone be carefull of American Airlines !
They are changing everyone's flight and not
even notifing you !
I had a non sotp flight coming back from Aruba scheduled Oct 2006 I just found out on my own they are no longer flying non-stop
on Wednesdays. They put me on a flight with a lay over in San Juan. When I called the and asked them why they did not notify me they said your flight is not until Oct.
You can cancel if you want. Then they told me the did send me an e-mail ( which I never
received ) and when I told them that, they told me there must be something wrong with my e-mail. I told not likely because there are 6 of us going and none of us have been notified !

Hey Kev b,

Did you really mean October 2006? Cause thats OVER a year and half AWAY! I didn't think you could make airline reservations that far in advance...

Re: Amer. Airlines ALERT !

Hi Kevin,
I had the same problem plus some. I am leaving Wednesday on a 7am flight direct from Boston. Originally it was a 9am flight. I was informed about three weeks ago that my direct return flight was changed to the same flight as yours through San Jaun. I did'nt mind the first change bacause it will get me to the beach bar earlier but the second change sucks.

Re: Amer. Airlines ALERT !

I just checked my flights for Oct of this year and it looks like they either cancelled or changed my flight to Aruba!! My travel agent is looking into it now to see what is going on. It's 6 months away and I am already getting nervous. I will be on my honeymoon. I hope they dont ruin things for me!!

Re: Amer. Airlines ALERT !

Flown America quite a few times...the rule is if they've changed your flight by more than 3 hours, you are entitled to a new flight. The customer service reps CAN'T tell you this, but if you ask they will do it. They've done it for me twice in the past three years (and US Air did it for me last November).

Just remember you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. ;-)

Good luck!

Re: Amer. Airlines ALERT !

I had flight times & numbers changed which they did not notify me about. ( I discovered on my own, out of curiosity, when I was checking to see how many seats were still available !)

Re: Amer. Airlines ALERT !

Changes in itinerary are quite common. It is always wise to check your flight times before any trip. We have this happen even on our flights to Hawaii. It is nothing to worry about. American Airlines is doing a lot of changes lately. I have noticed they are even dropping direct flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Maui.

Re: Amer. Airlines ALERT !

I always check my reservations on the AA website (I make my own travel plans - I don't use a travel agent). That way, I can see if flight time changes have been made, make seat changes, etc.
For the record, AA DID send me an email confirmation with regard to my upcoming flight to Aruba. I don't think my hubby got one, though and it sure wasn't sent to me.
I guess I'm lucky - we haven't had any serious changes to our itinerary. Guess that's cause we're flying to Miami, spending the night and leaving for Aruba on a direct flight the following morning.
Be well and have great trips!

Re: Amer. Airlines ALERT !

We were notified about changes to our scheduled flight this Saturday and I called and demanded to have our plans put back to the way they were and I won the battle. They had my wife going home and leaving me in San Juan for two extra days. No way!
