Leaving for aruba on march 25 on american airlines flight 699 from jfk and connecting in san juan to flight 1845. Ive been tracking the arrival of 699 in san juan and the departure of 1845 from san juan. It seems that flight 699 is getting into san juan late,but flight 1845 is leaving on schedule or ahead of schedule. In some cases flight 1845 is leaving before flight 699 arrives. Its got me worried. Has anyone taken tdhese flights and have you had any problems. would appreciate any input

Had a problem before like that. We didn't get out of San Juan to Aruba until 9:30 at night when I should have been in Aruba at 1 PM. WE WERE LESS THAN THRILLED!!!!!!!!!!! However, after complaining to American afterwards, they made up for it with a voucher. Would rather the day in Aruba that was lost due to their messing up. hold your breath, it's beyond your control. I will say american is changing a lot of flights and seems to be losing control and their once great reputation. Wouldn't surprise me to see them go bankrupt within the year.

There is always a chance of a plane being late and people missing their connection, but there is another later flight from SanJuan to the island and if you miss your flight for some reason American will put you on the next flight out which will get you onto the island in the evening. There were alot of these situations during the winter months where lots of planes came into SanJuan and other destinations late because of delays at departure airports, but it will be taken care of so don't worry.

Call AA and see if you can switch to the direct non-stop to Aruba. I believe it is Flight #679 and leaves JFK at 12:15 arrives AUA about 4:30. Or you might consider switching to a Miami connection. I personally hate the San Juan airport.

That JFK flight 679 leaves at 10:30 AM gets into Aruba at 359. After day light savings begins it will leave at 22:30 AM
