Another What You're Reading in Aruba Thread

Checking in to see what people are reading these days...

... I just finished Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, the old John LeCarre cold war spy novel. This is the second time around as I read this book many years ago. Hardly remembered any of it but was good to go back. I enjoyed the style but some of it was a bit sparse. Now I'm into The Honourable Schoolboy which is the second installment for this series of 3.

What're you reading these days?

Just finished Dan Brown's Lost Symbol, enjoyed it quite a lot.

Not sure which of his big three (the others being the DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons) I liked best. If you liked one, you'll like them all.

A total Chick-Lit by Jennifer Weiner-The Guy Not Taken. I usually read things more substantial such as re-reading one of the classics, Jane Eyre, The Great Gatsby, but decided to just go with something funny since the winter is boring enough as it is!

Just finished reading "In The President's Secret Service" by Ronald Kessler. Fascinating book. The author interviews former and current Secret Service agents from Presidents Kennedy to Obama. On deck, "Black Hills" by Nora Roberts and "Witch and Wizard" by James Patterson.

Started Eric Clapton's autobiography last night. I have been meaning to pick it up since it came out a couple years ago. It was on sale at Barnes and Noble last night for $6.

Been in a science fiction mood for a few months; just finished the second book of Harry Turtledove's ATLANTIS trilogy. Picking up the third, Liberating Atlantis, tonight. He is a master of the alternate history genre.

I read that when it came out, very interesting read. I thought lost Symbol was pretty bad. Every so often I just had to put the book down and shake my head.
