Arashi Beach

Any views on what Arashi beach is like? on our last trip we only saw Eagle beach, Palm beach, and Baby beach. But some one told us about Arashi, is this a good soft sand beach? and clear sea?

They recently upgraded Arashi beach and the parking lot and beach has been improved a lot. It is really beautiful now.

I couldnt find Arashi beach when I was there last October. We are in a condo up in the area - and Malmok beach seemed to be extremely rocky. I am going to have to look for Arashi when we go back. I want a beach close to the condo that has some nice sand and water to spend the days at.

Thumbs up

Arashi is kinda hard to miss.
When you go to the lighthouse, there is only one piece of road on the last stretch before it goes uphill. There you have Arashi on your left. It starts just behind the last houses before the lighthouse and stretches almost ½ mile to the north.
It does not have any facilities and is mainly frequented by locals.

Aerial map showing the location. Malmok and Boca Catalina are to the south.

Hmm... looks easy enough. I definitely just drove over in that area. Maybe I was just looking for something dramatic. Or maybe the lot was under construction.

Yes, at the bend in the road is Catalina Cove
http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.6063439&lon=-70.0522506&z=17&l=0&m=s&v=9

Then next parking area further south is Boca Catalina
http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.6050141&lon=-70.0518751&z=18&l=0&m=s&v=9 you can see the parking area just to the left of the backward "E"

I have also posted our experiences there at Snorkeling Boca Catalina & Catalina Cove
