When I first started looking at this forum a year ago I also wondered how most of you go every year or numerous times a year. We just made our first trip to Aruba in June and truly enjoyed everything about it from the beaches to the weather to the rugged east side. We have already put our deposit down for next June and we are looking at possibly going at Thanksgiving also. I think we caught the bug also

so, be prepared for your friends, loved ones and strangers to say "WHAT??? You are going to Aruba again?"

Some people like the pursuit of new and different and some people like to feel comfortable. Personally, I think it takes at least two-three weeks to cover most of what the island has to offer and decide what you like best. It's nice knowing where to go and what to do and not finding out that you missed out on things.

I just posted the same question on the Aruba bb board a few days ago.My response varies but usually goes along the lines of, " you fly to Florida every winter, why don't you try somewhere different?" or " you go to the Jersey shore every summer, why not try somewhere different?"
I get so annoyed by that question. Someone told me that I was not a true Caribbean traveler because I only go to one place. I never claimed to be a world traveler... Just love Aruba!

    Still thinking about this....

Discovering Aruba is like hitting the lottery. If I hit the lottery, there would be no way I'd risk that 'win' with a double or nothing, or any other, proposition!

    Aruba is it!!!

One of our best travel writers (if not the best one) once wrote a text in his website called "don't look for one place in another one". Let me translate the first paragraph for you:

"One of our most common mistakes is going to a new place and look for what we already know. No one is free from doing this. I've just told you how I managed to understand Santiago only when I stopped looking for the things I enjoy in Buenos Aires."

The world is big and with so many interesting places to go, and we have limited travel opportunities, so it's natural to want to go to a different place each time we travel. But the truth is that there's no law forcing us to do that. This writer (Ricardo Freire) often gets questions like "does resort X has food/accomodations/fun options as good as those we found at resort Y, which we really liked?", and his answer is always "if you liked resort Y so much, why not staying there again?"

He says that if we want to try a new travel destination, we shouldn't do that just because "we've never been there", but because there's something there (and not in the places we've already seen) that makes us interested in going to that particular place.

    Cheers

    Marcio

For the record: And listen up good!!

Once you have been here, there is no where else
Why go somewhere different every time when Aruba is something different every time while maintaining a core of comfortable sameness.
It is so much easier on the travel agent
    Customs gets easier.
You know which beers are best and not which ones are more popular
And a bunch of other reasons. However .....

If you have to ask the question, then perhaps its best for all of us if you move on to discover your curiosities.

    be well
