    Aruba Arrival

Long time lurker, first time poster!! Hopefully I can get some good advise from the experts for our upcoming vacation. We have been to Aruba many, many times since our first trip on our honeymoon in 1994. This year we are staying in the low rise section for the first time since 2001 when we stayed at La Cabana. This year we are staying at the Divi Village Golf, non AI of course.

Last year we stayed at the Divi Phoenix and it was our first time having an actual kitchen and we LOVED it. We went to Superfoods and stocked up on food and adult beverages. From reading these very informative forums I have learned there is a duty free store in the airport in the arrivals hall. I have never noticed it and if it is better pricing than Superfoods I would like to try it out this year. So my question is, where do I find this store, is it in the baggage claim area? Not sure if it makes a difference but we will be arriving from Toronto, not sure if Americans come into a different area than we do.

Since this is our first time in the low rise area in may years I am sure I will have many other questions, I promise not to be too annoying.

    welcome!!

the duty free at the aruba airport is in the front right hand corner of the luggage area.
if you come down those stairs and you are facing the luggage carousel...the duty free store is in the front right section of that room.

be as annoying as you want. (seriously, we love it)

Thanks, I can't believe I have never noticed it. Clearly I am just running out of the airport trying to get the party started.

Enjoy your trip! Please feel free to ask any questions, I'll be staying at Divi Golf in 19 short days for the 4th year in a row.

We arrive on the 25th for 2 weeks, ohhhh I neeeed a vacation!!!
Here is a question for you. We have dinner reservations at Passions on the 26th for our anniversary (23rd). Our first time to this restaurant believe it or not. Can we walk there from the Divi Golf, or is a cab necessary. We do not rent a car because I have a zero alcohol policy when driving, not exactly conducive to vacation so no car for me.

Welcome to the forum, I don't think you can walk to passions and I always rent a car so I am not going to be any help on how much a Taxi costs. Dick.

I agree that you will need a taxi. It's been a few years since we stayed at Divi Village, but the taxis used to line up right outside the check in area. We never had to call for one. I believe that the taxi fare to any point along Eagle Beach is $8.00.
