What is on your vacation playlist? I'm looking for some songs to download for the trip. Every time I get ready to go on vacation I usually listen to some Bob Marley, but want some other tunes to add to the playlist. Suggestions please!!!
remember, i am old
pretty much classic rock, beach boys, stones, beatles, elton, motown girl groups.....
the bob marley stuff is not my thing although that music seems to be perfect for so many many of the aruba beach goers.
what i really love to listen to on my iPad/iphone/i pod are audiobooks.
anything by stuart woods, nora roberts.
While in Aruba, I also love the local music on the radio. I've tried in the past buying a CD of local music, but it's never the same. I don't know if it's the fact that I'm listening to it while it's snowing or that I'm just not sitting in the sand with a drink. However, I do try to put some type of tropical/salsa/meringue music on my ipod.
moving this to Aruba General as this is Aruba beach music listening topic
My music likes have a wide range. I would also say classic rock, but my classic rock is a bit different than Andrea's Doors, Steve Miller, Zep, Jane's Addiction, Black Sabbath, etc. I also love the Bob Marley, Janis Joplin tunes for Aruba. Then there is the morning beach walk music Metallica, Ozzy, etc. and the calm time music Alanis Morrisette, Eddie Brickel, - I like music
Jacki ~ loving Aruba from NJ
We like all kinds of music but lately it's been newer country. Luke Bryan, Zack Brown, Kenney Chesney all have great songs for relaxing on the beach.
We stream the 80s via iTunes Internet Radio.
Insane period in music (in good and bad ways).
But we recently signed up for "Google Music" so we can select what we listen to so iTunes may fall by the wayside.
Bob Marley.... for some reason it's a given. But also some other reggae...Peter Tosh, Black Uhuru, Third World.
On to the really wide range of Soca, but usually, because I love 'em so much, a lot of 2 Sweet (yeah, the band I play with at the Tamarijn), BMW, Tsunami Band this year, and whatever seems to stream across the radio lines (I'll tune in to PowerFM while I'm on the beach this year.)
A lot of Allman Brothers and Grateful Dead because that's what I do... perhaps a bit of Dwight Yoakam or Marty Stuart or Carlene Carter thrown in.
Oh yeah, Sheryl Crow as well, particularly "Soak Up The Sun".
For aruba I get Latin mixes from YouTube and convert to mp3 and the carnival music
