Aruba Dental

As some of you know I was planning on getting some dental work done in Aruba as it is less expensive than at home.

We no longer have GOOD dental insurance since Paul left Raytheon.

I found an awesome dentist here.

Her name is Dr. JM Ras and she is located near the texaco rotary/large setar building is nearby. address is 27 sero blanco

anywho......
I saw her today and have 2 appointments next week.
Her office is state of the art brand new with new equipment that rivals Tufts dental!

In waltham Ma my estimate to the insurance company was very high. I neglected to have the work done while we still had the good insurance.
In waterville ME the estimate was high as well and the lousy insurance would only cover $300.

Here, the estimate ofr the SAME is $780 plus today's $40 for exam and xrays. That is about 1/3 the cost as in the states.

(i need 3 inlays, one with a post and permanent crown bridge repair)

for those of you that are in the same situation as paul and i, lacking good dental insurance AND visit aruba twice a year AND are willing to give up 3 or 4 hrs sitting in a chair..............I HIGHLY recommend Dr Ras.

some particulars:
she is aruban born and raised
she was educated (college in florida, dental in holland)
she had couuntless opportunities to go places to earn tons of money as a dentist.
she wanted to come HOME where she is near her parents and where she can help her community.
she is very proficient and thorough and a stickler for pain free.
she is married w/ a 2 yr old daughter.
her sepsis policies are above and beyond!
the digital xrays are really cool.

Sounds terrifc for sure! I agree though, Dr Ras should try to relocate her office so that patients have an oceanview.

When I really think about it.....I would rather be sitting in a dentist's chair in Aruba than being at home in the winter! I would even skip the novocain!
