Over the years my husband and I had many conversation with employees of hotel, markets and restaurants about our dream of someday living in Aruba for 6months of the year. They have all encouraged us to do so even gave us tips on where to reside. We have spoken to many locals but some are in Aruba from Jamaica and Columbia they never spoke of racism. I was always amazed at how they encouraged us to go for it, in many tourist places they welcome you as a tourist but do not want you to move there.

Well, I just have one or "two cents" to add.......Seems we are all of "color" discussing this and except for a momentary lapse in the conversation...something about somebody being wonderful ......I think the conversation has been lively and informative .....
This much I think we all agree on........We love aruba, think it is relatively safe (and I say relatively because you can find trouble anywhere if you really want to) and all would retire there if we could (still trying to figure out how).....
    ARUBA....HOME AWAY FROM HOME
