    Typically, a number over 50 for an every day player (not a pitcher) is a rookie or minor league call up number. After Bogaerts' performance last fall, he was obviously up in the majors to stay. Hence, the number change.

    2 is Jeter's number and I understand that Bogaerts is a fan.....that also is rumored to have something to do with it.

    Ellsbury was #2 last year....he's gone.
