Andrea, that is an excellent point! The locals need to pay just as much as us...I was not thinking of it from their end, which stinks!

As per locals, aruban government signed a multi years contract to purchase gas based on the previous price $90-100 per barrel.
Therefore the price for the gas is still high, regardless that current price is below $30 per barrel.

That's what happens when you listen to the talking heads who said oil would never ever go bellow $140.00 a barrel, more likely to go to &200.00. Never say never

Gas prices drop by 2 cents - from ArubaAngelo's column:
Gasoline Just Got Cheaper in Aruba
The price of gasoline dropped 2 cents, since April 10, 2017.
Now you have to pay 1,768 cents for one liter of gasoline. The price for diesel also dropped considerably by 5.5 cent. A liter will now cost you 1,428 cents.
Last year in April (2016) one liter of gasoline was around 1,618 cents, about 15 cents cheaper. Diesel was also a lot cheaper a year ago in April, 1,239 cents per liter (a different of 19 cents).

In terms of dollars or even florin, any idea what this means for a full tank of gas in a jeep? Doesn't sound like that much for us vacationers, but I'm sure a business owner that relies on gas for their boat or taxi will appreciate any decrease.
Not sure when, but we will be back
