Aruba Grand

First time to Aruba in October . Not sure where to stay. Some people told me to stay at the Renaissance because it close to everything. Any comments on The Aruba Grand or other hotels?

thanks!!

Re: Aruba Grand

Sherry, If your focus is primarily beach, fantastic service, great restaurants and the casinos stay at the Hyatt, Radisson or the Wyndham. If it's just the beach and total relaxation then one of the low rises. The Renaissance is downtown and close to all of the downtown 'stuff' with a short boat ride to their private island. This hotel is not 'on the beach'. cj

Re: Aruba Grand

We stayed at the Wyndham for the last 10 times. It was great. This time at the Surf club (own 2 weeks in Kauai and traded one for the Marriott Surf club).

Re: Aruba Grand

Sherry,
To truly insure your enjoyment of Aruba, stay at the Hyatt. The Hyatt is located not far from the Aruba Grand and in my opinoion is much nicer. Ever since its opening some years ago, I have stayed there and no where else. Hyatt Hands Down!

Enjoy your trip.

Re: Aruba Grand

The ARUBA GRAND is great it is on the best part of the beach(palm beach)and is quiet. The pool and the beach are side by side and is not as crowded as the larger hi-rise hotels on palm beach. The hotel staff is great and make you feel right at home.I have been going since 1991(aruba palm beach resort)and go two weeks every april, 1 week at the grand and 1 week at lacabana.Last year we added 4 days and got the renaissance marina tower for $80 dollars per night thru priceline. The hotel was very nice and they have a private island that was great,i would have liked to be at renaissance suites as the rooms in the tower is small.I still like being on palm beach the best.

Re: Aruba Grand

the Aruba grand is AWESOME!!!!!! Geared toward "older" folks so its VERY quiet. We are 32 so its not only older people. Beachfront is great!!!! very nice pool. a nice boardwalk to walk in the evening or morning. Staff is friendly and they remembered our names whenever thay saw us. Casino right on the premises. My only gripe is the restaurant onsite.....service wasnt good but the food is great.any concern you have about the Grand should be forgotten.

Re: Aruba Grand

Nice smaller hotel on good section of beach. Older hotel which is in need of some upgrades and overall sprucing up.
