Hi Wendy,
I was at the aruba grand myself last february and we loved it. It was my first time at the hotel we stayed at the hyatt 2x before but we are planning another trip again in February could you please email me back if you find out that it has been sold the people were great the beach was quiet and wonderful. If you get any info on your question could you let me know and i will do likewise
The Aruba Grand has been sold to the Riu Hotel Group. I haven't heard of any changes yet. Hope they don't do anything drastic - we've been staying at the Grand every year since 1996 and love it there because it's quiet and not crowded.
Riu Hotels & Resorts, announced the purchase of the Aruba Grand Beach Resort & Casino.
At some point they will probably convert it to be solely an all-inclusive resort, but for now they appear to be honoring the Aruba Grand's EP contracts with most tour operators for the uncoming winter season.
Where is The Aruba Grand?? Next to what other hotels. Do they have an all-inclusive package?? We always stay at the Allegro. Since it is closed for renovatios we were goig to stay at the Holiday Inn but I got a call from my travel agent yesterday telling us The Holiday Inn will be remodeling there in November when we go and we don't wat to be listening to jack hammers while we are on vacation
Wendy,
The Aruba Grand has been aquired by the RUI Hotel Chain. I don't know how this will affect the hotel. We stayed there for our honeymoon in May and are planning as of now to go back for our 1 year anniversary. You can check RUI website.
They do have an all-inclusive package. My friend and I paid 1500.00 each in may for our flight to and from, and we stayed 5days/4nights. It was nice, and not very crowded. The beach was great too. Have fun.
Thanks everyone for the info. I'm sad to see that it's been sold. I was so happy with our trip last year that I'm afraid that things will change. I'll check the website for more info though.
i just read the same thing and am highly disapointed. it was in the travel weekly website. i just returned from the grand an aug 21. it was the best vacation i ever had and was planning on returnin in march. i do not like the fact that i will not have a choice for an all inclusive. all i can say is that i hope they keep the staff that they have because they were the sweetest staff i have ever encountered in all of my trips.
