Aruba Law Regarding Inheritance of Timeshare Property

We own timeshares in Aruba and are doing estate planning (a will). Wondering how to best transfer the ownership to our daughters "after we're gone"?

i seem to remember that at Costa Linda there was a clause in the paperwork that dealt with this. Not sure if your T/S has the same. You might want to check with them

    check with liliana.
see what is less expensive…. is it less costly to "add" their names now to the deeds (is it a deeded property? or a right to use?)
or is it less expensive to wait and let your estate handle it all.

we added kevin to ours years ago as it was the less expensive way for us to go.
i am not sure though we are doing him any favors

I contacted Renaissance (which is actually owned by Seaport, not Marriott) today and was told that a copy of a will and a copy of a death certificate would be adequate at that resort. Our other ownerships are at the Surf Club which, I would think, would be governed by US law.

Rob, there is an attorney right down the hill from you get him your paperwork from the timeshares, he might be able to steer you in the right direction. He just did all our wills and family trust for us.

we have a right to use at divi village and I am wondering if it won't be just as easy to add someone to the paperwork…..do not think that would be an issue at all….
