Aruba Question

We are traveling to Aruba for the first time in November. I was wondering about the cost of beer and food at the local stores. We are staying at the Divi Dutch and thought we could walk to local stores for food & drinks during the stay. I was speaking to a person who has been to Aruba several times and they told me that the cost of food and beer was very high. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect to pay?

Yes, things are generally higher on the island. Ling and Sons IGA is not too far away from Divi, here is a pointer to their beer page,

The cost of food at the grocery stores is about the same as it is in the USA. Some things are higher priced, but others are actually less expensive in Aruba. Beer is more expensive in Aruba. Even at the grocery store, beer is about $30 - $40 per case, but the cans are only about 7 or 8 ounces and not 12 ounces as they would be in the USA.
