Since our first trips were late July and August it was absolutely a consideration....... but all the other wonderful reasons to choose Aruba were more important...! "Frosting on the cake" comes to mind....!

I like that it is south of the hurricane belt but this year I have to worry about hurricanes hitting Florida. We usually fly into Atlanta but this year we are flying from Phoenix to Miami on September 30th so can you floridians keep the Hurricanes away please?!

We didn't choose Aruba for any particular reason; I guess Aruba actually chose us.

Besides the reason that Aruba is so beautiful, we bought our home there because it was out of the hurricane belt! No regrets!

For sure! Back when Aruba was a lesser known destination everyone would ask if we were worried about hurricanes when we were getting ready for a trip. I had my answer perfected after being questioned a few times.

And when people asked WHY we were going back, we would answer, the people, the diversity of the island itself and the fact that it is below the hurricane belt.

But remember, even though it is not in the direct path of a hurricane, hurricanes can change the weather patterns for Aruba. You won't have the actual hurricane, but you can have completely overcast days, a lack of wind or more rain than usual (but even that has been rare for us).

    yes indeed
when there is a tropical storm or a hurricane north or northeast of aruba by even many hundred miles, it can suck away the aruba trade winds.
been there, done that and if you have ever been in florida in august, that would be the temp and humidity aruba without the cooling trade winds.

When we first decided to visit Aruba it was a bonus, but not a main consideration. We have been on the island two different times when a storm was bearing down on VB...

That was a major consideration of ours in choosing our first trip to Aruba and subsequent purchase of a Marriott Time Share !!!
