there is NO good news from the Aruban.

in a nutshell the staff has not been paid for part of November and so far December.
the management team/new owners are not being forthcoming to the co-op owners.
the aruban government has not stepped in to bail them out, nor should they at this point.
there is talk of bankruptcy.
there is talk of the place being auctioned.
everyone is very nervous and losing their optimistic attitude.

at this point things are grim.

there may or may not be some information on the above site.
also too, the site administrator is asking for "donations", for the cause or for the promotion and administration of the site. i advise all to do your own research when it comes to making donations.

and fwiw, the ARUBAN is NO LONGER part of Interval. All deposits and exisiting reservations apparently are OK.

the arubanforum.com

Andrea,
The administrator of the arubanforum.com is not asking for donations. There are a group of owners who have contributed on their own, because we did not feel it fair for him to bear the financial burden alone. He has put out the majority of legal fees himself. He is asking for moral support in this right now because of the quickly unfolding events. He has informed everyone involved in this of every step in the legal proceedings.

The mention of donations was for maintaining the website. He started this one himself after a previous owner website was shut down by that private owner. I believe that mention of donations is at or near the top of the home page.

here is a posting asking folks to join slideking and john (site administrator) to get on board and join/donate.

again, folks that want to donate to the site administration or to help or support legal fees.......i say go for it. but, all folks should make certain that they know what they are paying for/donating too when clicking DONATE on any site.

here's the psoting...........

Hi everyone, This is just to let you all know that John has taken the final step to get some answers we've all been looking for. A law firm in Aruba has been retained and that check has been sent. I told John I definitely wanted to be listed in the action. We're not sure which direction we're going yet but we have asked the firm to find out the answers to ALL the questions we've been trying desparately to get. There are alot of rumors flying around but any info from are resort has dried up. The more owners we can give the lawyer to list on the action the more weight it will have. This is a plea for support. Just email John or myself your names and wks. and unit you own along with a statement you want to be included. This is also for all the "new" owners that bought directly from KL. In fact you may have some other remedies that the older owners don't have. We're just not sure yet. If, like arubagal and myself, you can afford to give up pizza for a month and send some monetary support I'm sure it will be appreciated. Right now however, mobilization and willingness to get on board is the main item on the agenda. You can e-mail John or myself with any questions or wish to have Johns' address to donate to help cover costs. The retaining fee was $1500 and John has put a $5000 limit on any costs accumulated. It has become more and more obvious that transparency will only come if we fight for it. After their post on their website they should be more than willing to "show us the MONEY".

just got an email from a friend staying at the Aruban.
she is there from friday the 11th til 31st.
her stay is an Interval Trade (she deposited her Cape Cod weeks and traded into Aruban)
she says her unit is nice, but in need of a makeover, the pool is running and clean and she has had daily maid service and plenty of supplies/linens.
said the place is practically empty but they are apparently prepping for almost 100% occupancy over the holidays.
