Arubian gas costs and Venezuela??

I know it's very expensive when I go there for vacation and fill up my Jeep rental. I am curious since Aruba is about 12+ miles off the coast of Venezuela and Aruba has oil refineries, why is it so expensive? Do they get there oil from that hostile anti U.S. dictator from Venezuela???

Re: Arubian gas costs and Venezuela??

regardless of where they get their oil they import it like the rest of us and the union controlling the prices are to blame no matter how near or far the refineries lay. Italy and most of europe pay more than new yorkers even as we are currently paying minimums of 3.25 a gallon

Re: Arubian gas costs and Venezuela??

Most of the oil refined(Valero) in Aruba is from Mexico not from Venezuela.

The gas is expensive because of taxes

Venezuela gas is aprox us 0.30 per gallon
the cheapest in the World

I just read were Aruba is going to start to explore for oil in there territorial waters as there territorial waters border the same area as Venezuela gets some of its oil from.
