    Atm problems

Has anyone had success getting money returned to their account? I used an ATM at the Westin last night- tried to withdraw money, the machine went black, then said to try another machine. Tried the machine in the casino, got a receipt for a withdrawal, machine opened, no cash dispensed. Phone #s listed on machine did not work. Called Caribbean Mercantile this morning. Shuffled around there. One person said usually have to have own bank return money, but since I am going to be in Aruba for more than a month, she gave me another name & number. I got an answering machine. GRRRRR!!

imo, you need to contact your home bank to report at least what you reported here.

could you visit the caribbean mercantile bank today with your ATM/debit card and receipts and speak to someone there in customer service?

and fwiw, here is a thread posted a week or 2 ago re: some ATM/DEBIT difficulties What to do when Visa debit card doesn't work on the island????

Thanks, Andrea, I did call my Bank and Chase will take care of it. They have great customer service. I didn't call them initially because I thought it would be easier to call the numbers CMB had posted on their machines. Wrong. I was also concerned that I would have to get a new card and didn't want to deal with that. Wrong again.

I have this same problem quite frequently in Aruba. It has always been reversed. I used to panic.
