ATM's

Question on ATM's....
I seen one post that there are ATM's all over the island.
We are leaving for Aruba on 4/24 and my paycheck is direct deposited into my account on 4/25. I was hoping that I could get funds via an ATM while I am there. Has anyone done this before?

Most likely they are located at either the banks or the Casino's. If Arubalisa sees this, I am sure she will know.

I wish you well.

Should not be a problem. ATM's have $US. I forget what fee was....but do remember it was very reasonable.

It sure is fun to get a paycheck while you're in Aruba! You can check your deposit at one of the internet cafes if you wish.

We have never paid a fee for using an ATM except in the casinos.

On the back of your card it will tell you which machines don't charge an extra charge. Ones that are affiliated with your bank don't.

Most except in the Casinos are free. There are plenty of locations. You may want to check with your bank to let them know you will be in Aruba. My accounts are with a credit union and cannot use card outside of US without advising them.

I cannot, for the life of me, understand why the casinos would be the only ones to charge a fee for ATMs. You would think they would want people to get money out. ATM fees discourage me to get money out.

Oh well, I guess that is why I'm an engineer and not a financial adviser!

ATM machines are all over the island - you won't have any problem finding one. I use ATM's alot in Aruba and have never been charged a fee from either the Aruba bank or my bank.

Click banks for locations

Aruba Bank (does not take Visa bank cards - only Master Card).

RBTT Financial

Caribbean Merchantile Bank

I have many times used ATM's in Casino's in Aruba. I have never been charged a fee. There are Cash machines in Casinos which are different than ATM's. Cash machines charge very large finance charges. It's the same as taking a cash advance on your credit card. Interest is charged from the day you you take the money. Never use a cash machine.
