Auba Rattled by Earthquake on 1-14-11

I was reading comments from other BB,s and many people are reporting on an earthquake that was just South of Aruba early this morning.

Does anyone have any other information? This is where the earthquake hit.

I was on a small beach in the south since 6.45 am until around 11 and we did not see, hear or feel anything.
When was it supposed to be?

BTW: In general do not trust any other BB than this ;-).

We are here, didn't feel anything or hear anything about it. I will have to ask around.

my lame attempt at humor........
could the donkeys at the sanctuary been stampeding causing some to feel an earth tremor?

my suspicions are that there was a small quake on aruba a year ago today.......maybe someone is playing tricks wanting us to believe there was another small quake today?

bottom line, no death, no destruction.
and the country of haiti still wallows in stages of hopelessness.
they are still to this day removing bodies from the rubble.

I think you are right Andrea. I have searched different sites regarding earthquakes and I could not find one in the area of Aruba that happened today.

Carsten - You are also right. Don't believe any other BB other than this one...
One person on that site (who has over 3000 posts), claims that he did feel the earthquake yesterday morning (1-13-11) around 7am.

Regards,

We actually did have a small earthquake near the Malmok area at 7:30 a.m. I did not feel it but some people told me they did. We have a 15 minuite news cast on channel 15 at 7;15 pm in english ....It is fun to watch and they talked about the earthquake, It happened same day last year, so they said...

Tremor in Aruba
Tremor in Aruba

Was awake at 4:15 a.m. today and felt a tremor. Thought it was my imagination at first with all the talk about the earthquake in Haiti, but turns out it was not. 4.2 earthquake in the ocean just off the shore of Venezuela.
