Beach Conditions

Mrs. 44 and I walked Palm Beach this morning from Radisson to Marriott. The beaches looked generally good. There are some spots with a thin lawyer of seaweed sloshing about and others with fine shells. However, nothing prevented a fine stroll or a relaxing morning reading and lounging. Plenty of people were under the bright sun, passing clouds, and blue sky. Thawing their bones is what I think most were doing.

In some places you can see where the sand has been eroded away to the palm trees. Other locales have a drop off to the water. Also, you'll note about 10-20 feet into the water there is a secondary drop, usually where the small waves are breaking. You'll want to take extra care swimming in those spots.

I broke out the little Sony camera with the panorama function and snapped a few shots. They can be seen at:

Bon dia.

Strolling Palm Beach

Hi Daniel,

The previous day my wife and I strolled Palm beach from the Hyatt to the Huts and back. Good relaxing walk and observed the same things you commented on, with one exception. I was surprised at the amount of pieces of glass in the sand near the Marriott. We picked up several very nasty pieces. They did not appear to be bottle glas but looked like they were from a flat pane of glass. Took as much as we saw to the garbage cans.

Hi Aquaman:

Needless to say, it is people like you, and your wife, that are so considerate of others and pick up what could possibly cause injury on the beach. If everyone just bent down and picked up any debris, the beaches would continue to be so enjoyable.

Thanks!
