Beach Conditions at the Surf Club?

Will be returning to Aruba (Surf Club)12/2 and am wondering what the condition of the beach is. The last time I was there there's a big drop off and a lot of seaweed, bad smells, etc. Can anyone tell me if this is still the case? We stayed at the SURF Club in DEC,2005, and the ocean condition was pretty bad. Please tell me it has improved. Thanks!!
ALSO HAVE THE STARTED CONSTRUCTION ON THE FISHING / BOAT PIER YET???
THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO START THIS SOME TIME IN 2006.
JUST THINKING ABOUT GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE THIS YEAR AND WOULD LOVE ALL RECENT INFO

THANKS
STEVE

Re: Beach Conditions at the Surf Club?

We were there in Feb and it was beautiful, nice sand, no drop off and no smell. I have been told that the smell does appear at certain times of the year. They were supposed to start on the construction of the fishermans docks etc.

Re: Beach Conditions at the Surf Club?

Just returned and there weren't any problems. The ocean's ground was slimey though and there were a few rocks once you walk into it. My complaint was the gigantic dump truck and crain moving the sand around. It was a bit annoying. Hopefully this will be completed by the time you get there. The water was cloudy though. We definitley couldn't see down to the bottom. We also noticed that people who were floating around on rafts were getting nibbled on by fishes. Not sure what that was all about?
