beaches

I was just wondering if people try to sell you stuff or bother you while your on the beach. Because when I was in the Bahamas they would constantly interupt you and try to sell things. It's very annoying after awhile.

Re: beaches

SHERRY,
THERE IS REALLY NONE OF THAT ON THE BEACHES. IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN, YOU MANY GET A COUPLE OF WOMEN (ON BOARDWALK) WHO WILL ASK TO BRAID HAIR. I JUST RETURNED ON SATURDAY AND THE ONLY PERSON THAT CAME UP TO ME ON THE BEACH WAS A MAN SELLING ALOE. NOT A BOTHER THOUGH.

Re: beaches

I agree with Paula. We just got back yesterday and had no problems. Like she said, just women downtown asking to braid my daughters' hair. Not really a bother. Have fun!

Re: beaches

Some people may approach you to sell visits to time shares, but the minute you say "no thank you" they move on. And there are very few of them. Not like other islands where they hound you. That's one of the things that really impressed us about Aruba.

Re: beaches

Nobody really tries selling "stuff" but there are plenty of people out there trying to get you to go on timeshare tours. And they are persistant. Just tell them you already own a timeshare and they usually back off.

Re: beaches

You will not be bothered by solicitors. Aruba's economy is based on tourism and everything is controled by the government (prices, who may sell, where they may sell. etc.). If you are caught bothering a tourist, and are not registered to sell, the government will be arrest and/or deported you. If you go to baby beach ( highly recomended) look up to the left on the hill. The big fort is a prison. That's why there is NO riff raff in Arube. Enjoy and have a Bon Bini for me.
