Yes, it is possible to be a vegetarian and visit Aruba. I did that several years ago. I lived in Bermuda. You can always request a meal free of meat, seafood or poultry.

Re: being vegetarian in aruba....

My husband is a vegetarian and we had no problems at the restaurnts in Aruba. The chefs were wonderful, making him special dishes. Some places we enjoyed that had vegetarian dishes on the menu were Cuba's Cookin', Valentino's and Salt and Pepper. The Amazonia had a wonderful salad bar he just loved. As for vegan dining, that's a different story. I think that would be difficult as most things have cheese and eggs.

Re: being vegetarian in aruba....

Sure is!!!! There is an abundance of fruit, veggies and salads. Some with a different twist on their preparation. No problems.

Re: being vegetarian in aruba....

Hi Shele,
i am a vegetarian- i have been traveling to aruba for the past 6 years. so far i haven't had any problems at all regarding what to eat. if you eat seafood, as i do, then you will be just fine. even steak places like el gaucho serve seafood dishes, as well as a vegetarian plate.
in my opinion, madame janette's and driftwood have the best seafood!! good luck and enjoy!!!
