I have a GSM blackberry thru verizon. I have been told that it will work there. NOt sure how true that is. Guess we will find out when we get there.

your vzw bb will work fine on the island. make sure you switch your network settings to "gsm" from "global or EVDO" which are your current settings.

go to: options/mobile network/ and change network technology to "GSM/UMTS"

also make sure your data services option is to "on" and while roaming settings to "on"

btw, you need to have the global data plan activate for your phone to work down there for data. voice calls are connected with your regular services via one of the local networks - spotty coverage at best.
