BLACKOUT on Aruba late afternoon 5/28

Island wide blackout/power outage today on island.

Anyone hear when or if the power has been restored?

nope not volcano related.
something happened with boiler(s) at the WEB plant.

most if not all resorts were using emergency generators.

Power was out island wide 4:30ish to 8:30ish. It came back and no problems
now. Yes, one of the web boilers shut down and now it's fixed. There was a fire and it shut down the plant. They handled it and it does not look like it's something that will happen again. Fingers crossed.

It has been windless here for 2 going on 3 days now. Storm out a sea sucking out our wind to power it.

Looking at the radar, it's moving away

Happy to hear everything but the wind is back to normal. Light winds today, SSW is mighty strange. Second photo below shows the flags at the Fisherman's huts waving left to right coming off of the water. Normally the are straight out towards the water coming from behind the camera.

Yeah - last 3 days have been pretty brutal w/o our lovely tradewinds.
Hoping they will come back today. The radar screen shows less
activity
