blackout since 4am

Woke up to no lights. Went downstairs and found the whole place dark except for the main lights. Apparently this is not the first time and is a common occurrence? They expect the power to be restored by noon.

Reading another board, it looks like it's the whole island, with some parts slowly getting their service back.

Considering I can't get any of the Aruba stations online, I would imagine she means on the island.... hope all's good in paradise...

Lol...sorry about that. I thought it would be self evident. The whole island is down. The only places to eat breakfast was in the hotels that have backup generators. The people from the surf and ocean club have been coming over to the stellaris all morning for breakfast. Most have been complaining about rotting food in their refrigerator.

Anyone know what caused it? Was there a storm? Oh that's right, it doesn't rain much there LOL I do feel sorry for the people with the food going bad...but the great thing is that most people stay outside anyway--but just to eat and sleep. Hope the power is on soon for them.

This happens rarely. All the power is back from what I hear.
No storm. Hear it was a boiler problem at WEB.

What I like about Aruba is even though the power goes out,
you still have water because it's not pumped. We have
gas here too so it's not as bad as in the US when we lost
power!

I just spoke with my property manager and he said that the power was off for about six (6) hours and was restored back at 10am. He did not know the reason for the outage.

Regards,

Eagle Beach was restored (at least the Costa Linda area) around 6:30 - 7 a.m.
