I just plugged in some dates for September and there was a choice of two flights to Aruba on Saturday and 3 flights from Aruba the following Saturday.

    NOPE

    http://www.lowfaresfarther.com/what-it-means/customers/

Q: What happens with Bags Fly Free?
A: There will be no changes to the Customer Experience right away. As you know, Southwest does not charge a bag fee for the first or second checked bag. AirTran charges $20 for the first checked bag, $25 for the second, and $50 for additional bags. Upon full integration, it is our intent to have a consistent product offering without bag fees. For now, the two airlines will continue to operate under their current guidelines and policies—independent from each other.

Q: What about my existing booking, is it in jeopardy?
A: No, your travel arrangements are protected. It’s business as usual for both airlines.

    Q. What changes can I expect to see immediately? Are there any new Customer benefits?
    A. For now, there are no changes to the Customer Experience on either Southwest or AirTran. We will continue to operate as two separate airlines and sell our own products just like today, while working to integrate the carriers and eventually provide a Southwest Customer Experience.

I was able to get $401 w/ taxes included....from Chicago on AA w/ one stopover in Miami in Oct. I didn't realize until I booked that they don't charge anything for first checked bag when flying to the Caribbean. I'm happy with this price....actually a little lower than what I paid in Feb., but going on a Wed., instead of a Sat.

    depending on the airline.

jet blue gives a credit to be used on other JB flights
american "used to give" a credit onto your credit card, but now they charge a $100 change fee and then issue the credit.

i have no idea about any of the others, but do know that JB does at least have a good credit policy.

If it is within 24 hours, Delta will give you the lower fare.

If it is greater than 24 hours, Delta will charge you their change fee and give you the difference.

Believe it or not we have done this in the past when business class became cheaper than economy tickets. Long story, but when we booked, there were only full fare tickets economy tickets available and MUCH more expensive business class. Business class fares were dropped so we made the switch.

I believe Air Tran also charges the change fee, but when their merger with Southwest is complete, there will be no change fees.
