Re: Booze.....

We do it all the time with beer. Buy it at duty free at the airport before you leave and bring it on the plane with you. A 24 of 10 ounce Heinken costs about $35.00 dollars U.S. in Aruba. Liquor and wine there I think are about the same price as the states and canada. Also the selection of american and canadian beers in aruba is not that great - miller lite, some budweiser, amstel, heinken and the local balashi crap.

Re: Booze.....

We always bring our favorite wine and a few other hard stuff bottles. Beer? To much lugging and trouble to get a couple of cases into the plane, out of the plane, back to the resort and have to wait anyway for it to get cold.

About 50 bucks difference saves a lot of aggravation transporting beer.
We stayed next to a couple that did the beer thing years ago and bragged about all they saved,(?) then blew over $200 their first night in a Casino.

So, yes you can bring your own booze to the island, what you bring is your decision.

Re: Booze.....

So t o tom, according to you, Balashi is crap and so is El Gaucho. Those happen to be two of Aruba's finest products, so why do you go there? What's your version of a good meal and a drink, Natty Light and a pizza?

Re: Booze.....

Bring your own Beer. I plan on doing this, this Sept. Beer is very expensive on the island. Three cases of silver bullets will be taken the ride with me. I spent well over $500.00 bucks on it in one week (10oz can/bottle) By the way $39.00 a case of 10oz cans at the supermarket in Aruba. I'll pay the $16.00 a case (12oz cans) and bring it. Have Fun Out There!!!!

Re: Booze.....

Gary - Ive never been to El Gaucho and have never said anything negative about it. As far as pizza goes, I guess your an expert on that since you get a lot of it at the Tam.
Balashi Beer - maybe its my taste but I just dont like it. After reading some of the other posts I dont think Im alone.

Re: Booze.....

T.O. Tom, Gary is just a idiot who comes out from a rock every once in a while to defend the Tamarjin and ElGaucho.

His view points are on a kindergarden level and his posts are on the same level.
Someday he just may go away for good.
Best to ignore whatever he his, he wouldn't understand good logic anyway.

Re: Booze.....

vicky, unfortunately, you are wrong as usual . T O Tom, I will apologize to you as I mistook you with another tom on this board. No offense even though you have slammed me on other posts, I will let that slide. Once again, I apologize to you. I do suggest watching the comments as I have experienced almost every restaurant on the island and as I have said before, there is room for both all-inclusive and eating out in Aruba and pizza isn't one of my choices.

Re: Booze.....

Gary - I agree with you - I have always felt that one of the great things with Aruba is that you can fit any budget -meaning if you wanted a McDonalds kind of holiday and budget you could do it ,or if you wanted five star being the Marriot or Hyatt its there as well. However, we are finding that prices in Aruba are leaning more and more to the Marriot and Hyatt type of holiday. I dont know, maybe thats what the Aruba tourism authorities want and are striving for.
