Bugs?

Hello! I'm traveling to Aruba in August (for my wedding ). Are there a lot of bugs/mosquitos in Aruba? Should I bring some bug spray? We're staying at the Amsterdam, if that matters. Thanks!!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!!

Normally bugs are not a problem unless there is a recent rain. I would recommend taking some bug spray just in case.

If you forget your bug spray use a lemon or lime and rub it on. I was told buy an old arubian last year and it seemed to work or made me order drinks faster.

No mosquitos unless there has been excessive rain. August is not rainy season. We always travel with bug spray as a precaution. If you bring it you won't need it , if you don't you will.

Interesting the use of Lemon or Lime. I think I would prefer that to the smell of bug spray.

paul and i have always needed bug spray at Madam Janette's
and at Tulip restaurants

our friend sherry (visitaruba site) suggested we try rubbing fabric softener sheets on our skin and that works like insect repellent.

The lemon/lime thing works.
Thats why they started putting limes in corona in Mexico years ago it actually kept the bugs away from the beer bottle!

Only been to Aruba once and didn't have any problem with bugs. That was in Feb.

Ditto! We always pack it - but in all of our trips to Aruba have only had to use it once.
