    Building an itinerary

With my trip coming up in 60 or so days I have started planning each day - something I like to do before a trip. I don't always stick to it - but it makes me happy to do it. This trip will be my wife, my daughter and both grandmas staying with us at our gold coast condo. And we have 4 friends with their 3 collective kids staying at a couple hotels/timeshares in Palm Beach.

    Figured I'd share.... comments/suggestions welcome.

I will spend the next 8 weeks staring at that making ever so slight changes. I have done this for every vacation since Cancun in 2000.

I did go a little over the top for our honeymoon in Hawaii... I went to the extreme of creating a color coded map with timed stops. My new wife almost divorced me before the 2 weeks were up!!

Gotta love the Hyatt Sunday Brunch and my kids are always stoked to hit Blossoms. I'm not such a big fan of the hibachi (if that's your intent) but I'm sure you know how great the atmosphere is there and they put on a pretty good pyro show compared to the Benihana's in NJ.

I dont know if you ever tried, but we went to zeerover in savanetta this spring and the place was a blast. Might want to look into it as afun outing with a big group.

i'm not big on lists and itinerary, my wife always starts with a vacation layout that usually diffuses and becomes a "basic idea of places we want to go, where we like to eat and what not...."

good luck with the power group. I'm jealous!

Love the color coded map! Glad to know I am not the only super-planner. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but he loves the results.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Had to smile....love your itinerary! I, on the other hand, work a couple of months getting our business to be able to function without me. So my itinerary for trips include 1) get to destination 2) Have a drink.. then WING IT! Enjoy your trip..

    I'm with Ibl
I get off the plane, get to the hotel. Hit the beach.
Each day, i get up around 9, go to the gym, hit the beach till around 4, go to the pool for happy hour. Upstairs, go to dinner, then casino. Go to sleep. Wake up. Do it again. I do that routine 12 times, then go home. Its great, i dont have to think or do anything. Except make dinner reservations the nights we go out nice.

my husband and i tend to make a restaurant itinerary.
if we have dental appointments, and for this upcoming trip we do :-(, we add that to the schedule.

all i know, God willing, we will be at ren island most days, and husband to casino most evening and a trip to baby beach and to the dentist. the rest is a crapshoot.
