    Along with the other comments, I too feel for you, on the loss of the pics. Cameras can be replaced , altho expensive, but pics - they really are a snapshot of your life.
    I also take hundreds of pics a day, with a Canon S3 IS, but have learned to take a number of fast, high capacity SD cards. At maximum image settings, I'll get 599 pics on a 2 gig SD card. As the card begins to fill, the transfer rate from camera's memory to the SD slows, so I simply replace the SD card on a daily basis (into the camera), and put away the used card into our LOCKABLE suitcases. Over several years we replaced all of our fabric suitcases with either Triton or Dempsey lockable suitcases. They are tough, and cut resistant, and will not collapse. In the event someone does steal the camera, we'll only lose the one day's worth of photos.

    I posted following awhile ago;
    On the beach, I use long VELCROŽ strips to secure zippered beach bags to the chairs.
    Helps deter the grab-N-run folks.
    Wally Mart, etc. sells an assortment of rolls in various bright colors for a few $. It helps stop and grab-and-go folks and is relatively EZ to use for other uses such as securing rolled beach towels and bundling up the kids beach toys.

    My DW found this loud lime green lockable thing called vacation vault on line somewhere, it will hold 2-3 cameras,wallets,room keys etc. The cable lock can fit around a steering wheel, or palapa, pool chair.

    Thanks to my travels around the world I leave nothing out in the open. I at least keep it covered under a tower with sandals on top. Try to make it not so easy for someone just to grab and go.

    Thumbs up

    That was a great tip http://www.vacationvault.com/

    They are great on the beach, snorkeling trips, casino, bar, restaurant etc.

    I cannot believe that you cannot buy them on the Island, they would sell like crazy.

    Hope one of the shops start carrying them, or I will have to have them shipped. Need a few of them at the house.

    Thanks for sharing.
