We're going to Divi Village on Sunday and someone told us that this whole week is "Camping Season." Supposedly, many people spend the week camping on the beaches. Will everything be really crowded? Should we be concerned? A post from another board said it will fine, but I wanted to check here. Thanks!
I was there 2 years ago at the Divi this coming week. It was a normal week when i was there. I am also going back tomorrow for a week again so hopefully it will be a wonderful week of fun in the sun! Maybe i'll see you there!!
It is the one time of the year the locals spend the week camping on the beach but they are on the far end of eagle beach and for most part they stay down there, some have ventured down our way (ABC). but security will not allow them to stay. I know the Divi will not tolerate them at all so you won't even know that they are there unless you walk down that end of the beach!
Enjoy yourself, I also will be there next week, leaving tomorrow morning!!!
Warren, I'm sorry if locals 'venturing your way' bother your vacation experience, how sad! There is no camping on the beaches in front of the resorts.
The tradition of the Easter camps on the beach can be enjoyed by all, and if you walk down that way you might just be invited to have a drink and join in the fun!
The official camping dates are April 9-22.
>>> "Will everything be really crowded?"
---- No. From Post over the years they usually camp up on Eagle Beach where there are no resorts. Those staying at Costa Linda or La Quinta may hear the music.
Camping week sounds like "Fun"- wish we were there that week!!! I know from "personal experience" the "locals" know how to have a great time!!! We should all remember "we" are guests of their Island....and lucky guests we are!!
we just returned yesterday and the camping had already begun. you will see all of the tents and the people having fun, but they are not in front of the resorts. the locals really do cherish this week of camping and were all very excited about it. pretty cool if you ask me
