Can I fly with these items:

We're headed down in 26 days and staying at Marriot Surf Club. Counting the seconds!!!

My husband has special dietary needs (low or no salt) so I'll be cooking from scratch a lot. I'd like to bring things like small bottles of olive and canola oil, low salt ketchup, etc. Will this stuff explode if I put it in my checked bags?

Also, will those little laundry detergent single use pods explode in checked baggage?

Will customs let me bring in bread, rolls, spices and herbs (in spice jars), coffee, English muffins?

Thanks for any advice or first hand experience.

no your stuff will not explode
wrap those liquids carefully and cushion with bubble wrap or clothing.
the oil should be also in a zip lock bag and then cushioned with bubble wrap or clothing.

we bring stuff in checked bags all of the time, such as coffee and laundry detergent and pita pocket breads and english muffins.

i bought a can of coffee in my carry on and they said nothing. of course it was a closed, unopened can and not a bag such as dunkin donuts but they let me bring that in my carry on along with bagels and such and they were all carry on.

For two years we have brought coffee, breakfast foods, frozen meat, on the plane with us. Never an issue. Pack it in a carry on and put it in the rack.

always bring coffee, laundry detergent, evoo, balsamic vinegar...rum...just make sure you package well, protect bottles and check your bags...never bothered us yet..

I do however have a question about frozen meats....never considered doing this but read someone saying they don't like texture of meat at grocery stores in aruba so they bring their own....what do you bring and how do you pack it??? carryon or checked ???

we bring frozen steaks and other frozen stuff every so often.
    freeze well
    then wrap in newspaper
then put in collapsable soft sided cooler
    put in checked luggage

    stuff arrives still frozen solid

Thanks Andrea...might do this in November....bacon is our favorite breakfast item and you can not get good bacon there and the hamburger is strange as well (good made into meat- balls though)...Dh and I thought about it this past year but he was afraid it would thaw before we got there.....
