Can't wait to come back in 2011!

We just booked our timeshare for May 2011 - yippee! We made a little detour this year from our annual Aruba trip and headed to St. Kitts. While it is a beautiful island, it made us appreciate Aruba a little more. Looking forward to seeing what has changed on the island and which of our favorites have stayed the same.

How do you compare St. Kitts to Aruba in terms of beach, restaurants, things to do? We were contemplating trading our week at the Surf Club for Marriott's St. Kitts next year but don't know much about the island.

lots of us have traded our timeshare or have booked to go to another caribbean island.
while visiting "other places", imo it makes us realize just how wonderful aruba really is.

comparing aruba to most of these other places is like comparing apples to oranges.

just my opinion

You couldn't have said it better Andrea! Other islands are beautiful, but we always find ourselves coming back to Aruba.

St Kitts was pretty but we did not see one beach where we said "WOW, have to come back." For an island without memorable beaches I would choose Dominica or Grenada for picturesque.

We did not find any good beaches on St. Kitts either. It was beautiful but had NO idea of service. Witnessed waitress scolded by her peers for doing a good job and listened to business owners lament the quality of their workers attitudes.

St. Kitts...

I went to St. Kitts back in 2007. The island has a long way to go in regards to tourism. Most of the employees worked in the sugar mill and were transplanted directly into customer service positions at a resort or restaurant. Unfortunately, they have ZERO clue on customer service.

While it is a beautiful island from a scenic standpoint, the beaches are nothing like Aruba.

There is a reason we always end back up in Aruba......

Terry Joz,

Interesting that there's no availability. We traded our Surf Club for Maui 3 years ago and had a great time-amazing place but far to go from NJ. ArubaLiz sent me a PM with some details about St. Kitts that are echoed by the other posts, particularly about the service and beaches. I really would like to go there but I also hate to give up my Aruba week.
